Product Description
Stainless Steel pipeline Ultraviolet Disinfection System with CE Certificate
What is UV?
Ultraviolet (UV) is part of the light from the sun. Compared to X-rays, the frequency of the UV spectrum is higher than that of visible light, and the frequency is low. This also means that the UV spectrum has a larger wavelength than X-rays and a smaller wavelength than visible light, and the energy level from low to high is visible light, UV, not X-ray. As a water treatment technique, UV is known to be an effective disinfectant due to its strong germicidal (inactivating) ability. UV disinfects water containing bacteria and viruses and can be effective against protozoans like, Giardia lamblia cysts or Cryptosporidium oocysts. UV has been used commercially for many years in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, beverage, and electronics industries, especially in Europe. In the United States, it was used for drinking water disinfection in the early 1900s century, but was abandoned due to high operating costs, unreliable equipment, and the increasing popularity of chlorination.
How Does UV Disinfection System Work?
In the UV water disinfection technology, the UV light disinfects by penetrating microorganisms and destroying their DNA. DNA plays an important role in organisms’ functions and reproduction hence destroying the DNA prevents the organism from being active and multiplying. This UV energy (wavelength of 240-280 nm) is also naturally found in sunlight in very small quantities. The same energy is produced in stronger intensities with help of high mercury discharge lamps, commonly known as UV lamps.
Advantages of UV water treatment
Effective: UV disinfection can inactivate virtually all microorganisms
Economy: Hundreds of gallons are purified for each penny of operating cost.
Safety: No danger of overdosing, no addition of chemicals.
Fast: Water is ready for used as soon as it leaves the purifier - no need to touch the time.
Simple: easy to install and maintain.
Automatic: Provides continuous or intermittent disinfection without special attention or measurement.
No chemical composition: no chlorine taste or corrosion problems.
