Product Description
Scale, also known as limescale, is frequently an issue in water-using equipment when water is heated. During the prolonged operation of circulating water, hard water scale forms thick accumulations in chilled water systems, thereby reducing heat transfer, impeding water flow, and consuming additional energy. It is widely acknowledged that water descaling is a crucial procedure in the maintenance of commercial facilities, particularly for cooling towers, condensers, heat exchangers, and boilers.
As a non-corrosive solution, electrolytic descaling has been exploited by an increasing number of industries in recent years. Scale removal is accomplished through the electrochemical reaction of water electrolysis. During the electrolysis process, the cathode undergoes a hydrogen evolution reaction to generate hydroxide radicals (OH−), creating a high pH environment. Heavy metal ions, such as calcium and magnesium ions, are precipitated on the electrode surface. Simultaneously, oxidizing substances formed at the anode side have a certain impact on algae and fungi in the water, thereby inhibiting the growth of bacteria and preventing the adhesion of biological slime.
Material: The material of the titanium electrode significantly influences its performance and service life and needs to be selected based on the cooling tower environment.
Shape and size: In accordance with the specific application requirements, the shape and size of the titanium electrode assembly can be customized to adapt to different operating environments.
Coating: In certain special application environments, to enhance the corrosion resistance of the titanium electrode assembly, it is necessary to apply a coating on the surface.
Connection method: Depending on the equipment, the connection method of the titanium electrode assembly will also vary and needs to be chosen based on the specific circumstances.
In summary, the custom design of titanium electrode assemblies needs to consider numerous aspects to ensure it can exert the optimal effect in a specific application environment.
