Regenerating And Recycling Alkaline Etching Solution and Copper Recovery Equipment
The electrolysis process with the anode cloth and the anode frame is used to regenerate the etching solution and recover copper. This process is an on-line regener- ation process, that is, the electrolytic regeneration equipment is connected with the etching machine in series. The regenerative reaction and the etching reaction, which are reversible reactions for each other, are cyclically performed in sequence. Chlorine gas is generated in the anode region of the electrolytic tank. The chlorine gas is diverted and extracted into a chlorine gas absorption tank. Acidic etching waste solution is used for spray absorption, where monovalent cuprous complex ions in the waste solution are oxidized into cupric complex ions, enabling the oxidative regeneration of the waste etching solution. The catholyte in the cathode area of the electrolysis cell for recovering copper plates, regenerating Cl-, and reducing the concentration of Cu2+, is returned to the regenerated etching solution to lower the copper ion concentration. Under the driving of electrochemical potential, the monovalent cuprous complex ions on the surface of the cathode plate are reduced to zero-valent copper plates, producing Cl- and reducing the Cu2+ concentration to approximately 20g/L in the catholyte. This catholyte is then returned to the acidic etching waste solution in the chlorine gas absorption tank, reducing its specific gravity to a certain range. Therefore, the chemical composi- tion, redox potential, specific gravity, and other parameters of the acidic etching waste solution remain within the controlled range required for normal production of the etching process line. Copper plates with commercial value can be precipitated on the cathode plate and can be sold directly.
